The Merced Sun-Star reports that Judge Ronald Hansen ruled Friday that prosecutors from the attorney general's office failed to prove that Ethan Morse was driving the car from which a co-defendant fired the shots that killed 18-year-old Bernabed Hernandez-Canela. Morse is the son of Merced County District Attorney Larry Morse II, who issued a statement saying he always knew his son was innocent and the truth would come out....
- School apologizes for video that faked shooting

The video shows school administrators at Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, including the principal, dressed in superhero costumes and pretending to kick and punch students at the rival school. Principal Steve Hobbs declined to identify the school administrators in the video or say whose idea it was....
