School Assemblies

Why don't we have award assemblies for the students?   The town I came from the schools had a program called Character Counts.  Each month the school focused on one of these characteristics:  trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, citizenship, and caring.  Then at the awards assembly one or two students from each class were given an award because they practiced this particular characteristic.     Also why don't we have honor roll for those students who have a 3.5 gpa or higher?
