    The Merced City Fire Department Local 1479 will hold its annual Fill the Boot event to raise money for the Central Valley Muscular Dystrophy Association on Oct. 27 at the intersection of Olive Avenue and G Street from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The firefighters will ask passing motorists to "Fill the Boot" by donating dollars and change as they travel through the intersection.
