Harmony Elementary & Salmon Creek School - A Charter School

Harmony Union School District has one campus, which consists of one elementary school (grades K-1) and one middle 
school charter school (grades 2-8). Harmony Elementary School used to be located in the town of Occidental, but a few years ago it transferred to the newer Salmon Creek Middle School campus, which opened in 1992. There are approximately 260 students currently enrolled in the District, and 15 great teachers who have taught many kids who are doing great things in their lives.
Our school has a gym, an 8,000-volume library, including a computer lab, and much more. The 50 acres of land that make up the campus include four different ecosystems: a coastal creek with a waterfall and observation deck, a redwood forest, perennial wetlands, and grasslands. Students have helped build and maintain a nature trail in the forest and there is a large (3/4 acre) working garden, including a straw bale greenhouse that students helped build a few years ago.
The school is currently in the process of building a LEEDS environmental center which will include a cafeteria, office space, and an assembly room as well.
Harmony offers lots of after-school activities such as volleyball, basketball, flag football, band, day-care, and dances for 6th-8th graders.
