About Sarah Mones
My family and I relocated to Northern California in August of 2008 from upstate NY. I began teaching Art at RVCS for the 2008-2009 school year.
Children and Art are two of my greatest passions. Teaching students the ways in which art and society are linked is the main component in the art room. I show students how art can shape the world around them and create positive change. By incorporating art history and modern art lessons into the weekly classes, students can take what they have seen and reflect or build upon that visual in later assignments. We look at regional as well as national artists. Student explore painting, drawing, photography collage, sculpture and printmaking. They work individually as well as in groups.
I hold a BFA in Fine Arts/Photography with a Minor in Art History from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. In tandem with teaching I am a practicing artist. You may view examples of my artwork at www.sarahmones.com The best way to contact me is at info@sarahmones.com » read more...
