7th Grade Science
The curriculum for the seventh grade Life Science class concentrates on
Biological science. The course starts by looking at the cell as the smallest life form, and moves towards examining the organisms that make up the five kingdoms, including the human body. Student work focuses on the function & form of all organisms. Students develop the scientific method strategies through hands-on activities using scientific laboratory equipment, observing collections of various specimens, and performing experiments. Students learn to collaboratively problem solve by working on tasks in small groups. The standards based textbook used in this class is Prentice Hall: Focus on Life Science. The students work from this text, materials that I have compiled, and a workbook that accompanies the text.
