D. H. White Elementary School

I have been teaching for more years than I wish to remember, but I began in the private sector. I taught in a Montessori School for many years and sixteen years ago I went back to get my Master's degree and a public school credential. I have been with the River Delta Unified School District since 1996. I started as a Reading Specialist at Bates School, went to an English Language teacher and joined D. H. White School as a Second Grade teacher three years ago. I am still having fun. Kids prevent boredom and keep one fit. In class, my favorite subjects are all of them. I love to read, find numbers rewarding because they are consistent and social studies, science, art and P. E. are relaxing. My kids like recess the best, but they do see testing as a challenge; go figure. On a personal level, I have one daughter and three grandsons. I live in Elk Grove, do tai chi almost everyday, I love it; and I read and watch movies. I have a cat named Ernie and I love to email my friends. Soon, I hope to add pictures of classroom activities.
