Class Notes
Wednesday
Messengers will contain important information as well as your student's
homework packet for the week. Please read 20 minutes with your student
each night, and send the homework packet back to school with your child
the following Tuesday. There is a Saxon Math practice sheet you will
see come home daily, and you may choose to complete B side with your
student for addtional practice. I make every effort to have your child
bring home a book for nightly reading. We have been taking quizzes in
our Accelerated Reading Program, and running the halls every Wednesday!
Homework and reading done with your child need to be an enjoyable
experience for you both. Please feel free to contact me if you would
like additional ideas on ways to help with your student's learning at home.
Behavior expectations at Bates are very simple. Our guidelines for the
school are three standards, which apply to every student from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade. They are as follows:
1) Show Respect, 2) Make Good Decisions, and 3) Solve Problems.
Internalizing these standards as part of their daily living is our
goal, both at school and at home. We appreciate all you do to help us
create the best learning environment possible for your child.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 775-1771, ext. 2320, or kgomes @riverdelta.k12.ca.us. I so look forward to having a wonderful year with your children!
